Located in Edinburg, Texas, the Bridges provides a bridge between independent living and a nursing home.
Assisted Living is a residential care option for individuals who typically can no longer live independently. Where they have their individualized needs met in ways that respect and protect their privacy, encourage their independence and reflect their personal choices.
In general, Assisted Living has helped to transform the "institutional" model environment of nursing homes by focusing attention on a setting people actually could live in. It was developed in the mid 1980's as an alternative to nursing homes, a situation many elderly individuals fear more than death.
Our Assisted Living home is designed for older adults who need help doing things they can no longer do for themselves.
Dedicated professionals at The BRIDGES respect and nurture the unique capabilities of each resident and encourage independence. As a result, our residents' lives are enriched with good fellowship, interesting activities and a comfortable environment.
Only sixteen residents per home is a thoughtful departure from the usual "institutional" feeling. Central to our goal of providing a homelike atmosphere, our residents know and support each other, and our staff has time to nurture each person with encouragement and attention.
We provide needed assistance while offering residents the opportunity to care for themselves as much as possible which enhances their sense of self-worth.
Our residents feel safe in their new environment knowing that our caring staff is available 24 hours a day. They feel at home in that they are encouraged to bring their favorite furniture, pictures and personal belongings with them for their private rooms.
While residents have similar needs, each resident has his or her own likes and dislikes, routines and lifestyles. Even when seniors live with others in an Assisted Living community, they are individuals.
That's why The BRIDGES will design an individualized care program based upon the needs of each resident.
A single monthly fee covers:
A cozy private room with a view and a full private bath which promotes the dignity of the individual.
Three daily balanced meals based upon their individualized nutritional needs. Our residents are encouraged to share a favorite recipe.
Bathing assistance, which provides a sense of security and comfort.
A full range of assistance with dressing which ensures that each resident is able to maintain their standard of grooming.
Individual laundry service.
Medication management, assisting our residents in following the medication program designed by their own physician.
Transportation for doctor appointments. A staff member will accompany our resident throughout the visit.
