Our Alzheimer's Assisted Living Concept
Located in Mission, Texas, next door to Mission Hospital, the Bridges provides a warm, friendly, homelike environment for older men and women afflicted with Alzheimer´s disease, who can no longer live alone safely, but do not need the intense medical attention provided in a nursing home.
The Bridges at Mission was designed by Perkins Eastman Architects of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and built in 2003. Perkins has won national awards in the design of small residential based Alzheimer´s assisted living homes. Our particular home is designed to provide a secure environment which maintains individual privacy, dignity and independence.
The Bridges is the ONLY assisted living home in the Rio Grande Valley certified to provide Alzheimer´s assisted living care by the state of Texas.
The Bridges offers private and semiprivate rooms, suites for couples, and adult day care. Each person is evaluated individually in order to determine which level of service is appropriate.
Dedicated professionals at the Bridges respect and nurture the unique capabilities of each resident and encourage independence. Activity programs are designed based upon each residents' needs for order, to foster fellowship in a comfortable environment.
The Bridges provides three individual "homes" inside our building. Each home has 11 rooms and their own kitchen and living room. Each home has access to our open sitting and activity rooms, as well as three separate, and secure, patios. All of these features are designed to provide as much freedom and stimulation as possible, while insuring the safety of our residents.
Respect, Dignity, Security and Independence are the hallmarks of care provided by the Bridges.
The Bridges will design an individual care program based upon the needs of each resident.
A single monthly fee covers:
Medication management which assists the resident in following the medication program designed by his/her own physicians. The Bridges will reorder medications in coordination with a physician.
Transportation to medical appointments can be provided. Our staff will accompany the resident throughout the visit.
A full range of assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, etc. Incontinence care is available to ensure each resident is able to maintain his/her own standard of grooming.
Our individualized laundry service maintains our residents' dignity and privacy.
Three balanced meals a day. Specialized diets and snacks are also included.
Respite care is available on a limited basis.
Day care is available Monday-Friday.
